Pioneered by Suzanne Steer, House Medic Interiors was started in 2001 to address a gap in the market. Since then Suzanne has continued to grow House Medic Interiors, offering a diversified selection of services to meet the needs of the industry.
Suzanne trained in design, prior to a successful career in the IT industry, where she developed strong skills in sales and marketing, whilst simultaneously buying, staging and selling property for a sizable profit, before changing direction and pursuing her long-time passion for property styling.
Trained by Ann Maurice (www.housedoctor.co.uk), channel 5 House Doctor and property presentation guru, Suzanne is part of Ann’s team providing help and support at Seminars and training courses, part of the House Doctor Network. (More details on the House Doctor here.)
She has appeared in House Beautiful Magazine, BBC Radio Berkshire and currently writes a weekly column for two local publications as well as feature articles for publications such as Berkshire Living. Suzanne also finds time to provide mentoring services to an ever growing army of aspiring property stagers.

“What is the difference between Staging and interior design?”
“Staging is all about neutralising the owner’s tastes and creating an aspirational environment for a potential buyer to view and hopefully fall for. Buying a property is very much an emotion purchase as opposed to the logical decision, we think we are making.
There’s a deep psychology behind our desire to own a particular property, so staging is about design, creativity, understanding why and what people buy and then achieving the look on a budget.
Interior design is perceived by many as expensive, often clients need styling as opposed to full interior design and this is where I enjoy deploying our skills to achieve a look that won’t break the bank”.
We have helped and continue to help, numerous people to sell property that has lingered on the market for months, often selling within the first week, post our staging service. When it comes to styling, we have transformed bedrooms, living rooms or whole properties for clients, simply wanting to achieve a fresh new look.
Four and half years after starting House Medic Interiors, I still love what I do, it not only energises me, it’s extremely satisfying too.
